Each piece we create represents months, sometimes years, of dedicated planning. Here we take you behind the scenes to show you the culmination of the creative process: Production.

Inside our production studio in Bennington, Vermont, our specially trained team of artisans produce each piece to our exacting specifications. Whether you're a long-time fan or first time visitor, welcome to the R. John Wright Workshop! The following photos were taken during production of the Plunk, Hop & Wobble - Springtime Friends Series.

Photos are updated on a regular basis so visit often! The Production Archive can be found at the bottom of this page.

(Photo above) The turning process requires special tools & techniques

(Photo above) A tempered wire is inserted into the front legs

(Photo above) Another wire is put into the rear legs to provide stability

(Photo above) The nose and mouth are hand embroidered

(Photo above) First, the nose is airbrushed

(Photo above) The airbrushing is artistically applied in various stages

(Photo above) Here the ear tips are airbrushed with a darker shade

(Photo above) The imported glass eyes are inserted

(Photo above) The horsehair whiskers are carefully handsewn in

(Photo above) The pure silk ribbon has been custom-dyed
